The Board of Gridiron Australia have decided to postpone the recently advertised and planned Outback Training Camp until a later date. This decision has been made to give the players around Australia a chance to represent their state in the 2018 AGL.
In addition, Gridiron Australia will be relaunching the Outback Outreach Program for players. These clinics will also be used to develop Australian coaches and to create a pathway to becoming involved in the Outback program. It is planned that clinics will be running in early 2018.
Gridiron Australia is pleased to announce that the next Australian Outback Men’s National Team Training Camp will be held from 9th – 14th February 2018 at Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre.
As part of the recruitment process we invite Head Coaches from eligible clubs around Australia to put forward players they would like to recommend for this training camp.
We would ask that ONLY Head Coaches should send their recommendations via email to either:
National Camp invitations including details in relation to the camp will be sent out to the relevant players in the coming week.
We are very pleased to announce that Australia field a Senior (18 + Men’s) Australian Outback Flag Gridiron Team to compete in the IFAF Oceania World Championship qualifying match against New Zealand.
The proposed date for the possible match has been penciled in to be held in June/July this year in New Zealand.
If successful in winning the match the team will then qualify for a spot in the 2018 IFAF Flag Gridiron World Championships (host country yet to be confirmed)
